Don't Look Back
Review
Don’t Look Back is sort of a distant cousin to The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. Except Samantha didn’t cross the threshold into becoming instatutionalized but barely grazed it. And, of course there was no Noah Shaw to swoon over. But don’t worry, Armentrout didn’t leave us hanging, as you’ll experience heart palpitations from the cutie that is Carson. This book is like a ‘WhoDunIt’ mystery, with a freaky paranormal twist, mixed in with lots of teenage angst. Samantha is drowning in a clouded pool of her present life and searching in the midnight depths to bring the past to the surface where her best friend’s life is lost. Cassie is caught from being discovered alive or dead and Samantha is haunted in the present by snippets of ghostly memories that she just can’t fit together. If you loved The Unbecoming Of Mara Dyer chances are you won’t be able to give this book a rest. It will keep you on your toes, gripping the edges of the pages that are filled with words which will scare you into believing everyone is a suspect.
