Isla & The Happily Ever After
There were parts of this book that were difficult for me to get through owing to the fact that I related to Isla a lot more than I would care to admit. Her insecurities mirrored mine to the point where I felt like my personal demons were being thrown back at me through the thoughts and actions of this seventeen year old girl! The relationship between her and Josh also contributed a sort of déjà vu when she basically spit out words of her fear of not being good enough for him and that he'd come to his senses and realize he doesn't love her, and that pounded at my chest because it was very similar to words I unraveled to a guy at one point in my life.
"Is it possible, after all this second guessing, that Josh really loved me as much as I loved him? Is it possible that he saw something in me that I have trouble seeing in myself?"
Is it possible that I am worthy of being loved by someone whom I love?" -Isla
Like Isla I've always felt like a blank canvas, never knowing where I'm going or what I'm doing with my life. But Josh opened my eyes a little wider when he said these words:
"Artists are inspired by blank canvases"
<3
I loved the reunion of all the main characters from the first two books. It was tied off perfectly and I wouldn't change a thing.
Isla doubted Josh's love for her and tried to let go of something that consumed her heart, but what chance did she stand against Kismet.
And she read it in the pages of his book; they were meant to have...The happily ever after
